News Release

Investment of $750,000 improves remote access and creates 11 jobs

July 25, 2017 – Toronto, Ontario – Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario)

The Government of Canada is investing in innovative healthcare solutions that will keep our nation strong and thriving.

Today, Ali Ehsassi, Member of Parliament for Willowdale, announced that FedDev Ontario is providing AlayaCare Inc., Canada’s fastest growing home care software provider, with up to $750,000 to commercialize innovative home healthcare software.

Healthcare systems are impacted by the aging baby boomer generation and are looking to the tech and software community to provide solutions that are more affordable and outcome-driven.

AlayaCare’s system supports more cost-effective, efficient delivery of healthcare, especially for post-acute and chronic disease patients who need 24/7 healthcare services. This includes remote monitoring services that allow health care agencies and patients to access and receive care from home.

FedDev Ontario funding, through the Investing in Business Innovation initiative, will allow AlayaCare to commercialize its home healthcare system throughout the North American home health care industry – which consists of more than 29,000 agencies and hospice providers, including homecare.

This project will strengthen the medical software and service industry in southern Ontario and build on Canada’s technology expertise, by supporting the development of innovative software solutions for the healthcare sector and creating up to 11 permanent full-time jobs.
